Hours at these spots often run into the evening, later than a typical coffee shop, and many stay open on weekends when demand is highest in Chicago. Extremely rude staff, to the point of disrespect. We were having a family day out and this lady (the manager/owner maybe?) came and yelled at us because we walked in with a takeout bag from a previous store. To my understanding they have a policy, not to bring outside food but she could have been more gracious about it. We purchased 2 coffees and 4 pastries, for a party of 6. I’m visiting from Alabama with my 11 year old daughter and she thought the lady wasn’t yelling at us but after we put away the pastry we have brought in, the lady came back yelling even louder. Basically kicked us out. I have never in my life experienced something so humiliating. My daughter’s mom, which was not aware of the situation tried to ask her why the second time she came but at that point I have had enough so we stood up and left. Needless to say I won’t be visiting this store or Chicago’s Chinatown ever again

Have wanted to visit a Paris Baguette for a while. They opened one in Nashville JUST after I moved away. So, I was excited to stumble across this one in Chinatown Chicago. Bright, airy spot with AMAZING, fresh baked pastries. Staff was super knowledgeable & helpful! I ate a Crème Brûleé Bombolone while I was there, & took the rest back to the hotel for later. Can't wait to dig in for my dessert later!

Wow, absolutely amazing. So many wonderful Korean infused pastries to try. Also a nice menu for coffee and hot cocoa and other drinks. You may have to wait a little bit for seating, but it didn’t take long for us to finally be able to sit down and enjoy all of our pastries.

Well unfortunately I was going to head up north to argyle and Broadway and I was hoping that old Chinatown by cermak and Wentworth would have had Vietnamese rice cake on any of the bakeries. Unfortunately they did not and I was really craving for that. So I chose this one because it was the only bakery that had a sit down. The other bakeries I'd probably have to head back to the car and eat it which I did not want to on the semi cold day. Anyways, the pastries were just meh ok. What the castella de meil cake was similar to eating a Filipino sponge cake called mamon that I could get from Red ribbon for cheaper and then spending almost $4.49. I also ordered some croissant and two fruit pastries one was with blueberry and the other one was a strawberry lemon croissant. It was just okay there is nothing I would do cartwheels for but it wasn't bad either. Service was pretty quick. Ambience was quite noisy with a lot of the younger crowd in their 20s or 30s if you may say a millennial or a gen z. Otherwise my disappointment is that not just this bakery. But all the other bakeries did not have Vietnamese rice cake I guess cuz it's Chinatown they used to have it. I would have gone up North

I’ve passed by Paris Baguette in Chinatown so many times and always said “next time.” Well… it finally happened. The second I walk in, the smell hit me. Butter, sugar, baked things everywhere. It’s kind of impossible to ignore. What makes it funny is that it’s a French bakery right in the middle of Chinatown. It just works though. Staff was super nice. Smiling, patient, didn’t feel rushed at all. I ordered a hot chocolate and the Chocolate Supreme Croissant. Hot chocolate was good. Sweet, comforting, did the job. But the croissant… that was a moment. Round, flaky, crispy on the outside and on the Inside Chocolate custard heaven. Then more chocolate on top. And those little crispy pearls. It’s a lot, in the best way. Every bite was crunchy, soft, rich, and messy in a good way. Straight-up chocolate overload. I can’t believe this place has been here all this time and I barely noticed. Easily one of the best pastries I’ve ever had. Not even exaggerating.
